Smoothie King Goes Vegan

| By

Smoothie King Franchises, Inc. teams up with health food company Sunwarrior to concoct Vegan Smoothies.

The leading smoothie franchise, Smoothie King will be offering two new Vegan Smoothies in partnership with another health food company Sunwarrior.

The new smoothies are made with 100 percent quality Sunwarrior ingredients consisting of raw plant-based protein and other healthy food like acai berry, kale and mango.

The two new Vegan Smoothies will include Mango Kale Smoothie and Dark Chocolate Banana Smoothie.

"Statistics show a growing interest in plant-based diets among all consumers, both vegan and non-vegan," said Wan Kim, owner and CEO of Smoothie King.

"By introducing these new menu options, we are catering to guests who seek plant-based protein in their diets. Our goal is to provide them with quick, easy and tasty ways to get the nutrition they crave on-the-go," Kim added.

"It used to be that vegan protein was only of interest to hardcore vegans and vegetarians," said Jerry Burt, National Sales Manager of Sunwarrior.

"Now we see a wider group of people - fitness enthusiasts, health conscious parents, teens and baby boomers - who are incorporating plant-based meals into their daily lives. Replacing just one meal per day with a plant-based option can have long lasting health benefits. The fact that these smoothies taste great makes it even better," added Burt.

The two Vegan offerings of Smoothie King packs 350 calories per 20 oz serving and is lactose-free, gluten-free and full of Vitamns A and C. They provide antioxidants, phytonutrients and minerals and 11 g of protein for building muscle and burning fat.

The New Orleans-based Smoothie King Franchises, Inc. was founded in 1973 by owner Steve Kuhnau who wants other people to eat delicious food and get healthy at the same time.

Smoothie King was acknowledged by Entrepeneur Magazine as No. 1 in the juice bar category and grabbed a spot in the 2014 Franchise 500 list.
