After saying that "everything is cool" following the Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks breakup, the singer-songwriter slams spreading of "irresponsible lies" regarding the split, saying "infidelity, cheating, or deceit played no part."
In a statement given to ABC News, the "Talk Dirty" singer commented on the issue.
"Though I think it is a private matter and intended to keep my break-up [with] Jordin personal, due to bogus and irresponsible lies being reported by insensitive media outlets it became necessary for me to comment," said the "Wiggle" singer
He added: "I spent three great years with Jordin and she is one of the most amazing people that I have ever met. But as in all relationships there are ups and downs and at this time we have decided to amicably part. Infidelity, cheating or deceit played no part in our relationship or our break-up, and I hope that people respect our privacy as we move forward with our lives."
In a report by HollywoodLife.com, a source revealed the alleged real reason on the Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks breakup, claiming that riches are a factor.
"Jason keeps making hit song after hit song. He keeps making money hand over fist and that was a big strain on the relationship between the two and the main reason that he didn't marry her and the reason they broke up," the source said.
"If he married her and they fell out of love, he would take a huge financial hit. It got to the point that he started thinking that she would get half of everything that he made for himself rather than what it would be to be in love with her," the source told the media outlet.
After feeling a somewhat success due to the hits he is making, Derulo's love for Sparks seemed to be overpowered by achievements he's getting, which allegedly headed to the Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks breakup.
The source concluded that "Success took [Jason] in a different direction, and that was away from Jordin. They would have survived in Jason's eyes had their relationship been like Jay-Z and Beyonce and both equally had a career."
Meanwhile, Sparks has not made any comment yet, but in her Twitter post on Friday, she said: "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."
The American Idol winner appears to be moving on smoothly and surely as she promotes her movie titled "Left Behind".
