In 2023, The Cheesecake Factory was named the restaurant chain with the best reputation. This news comes from a significant study by SOCi, a marketing company.
SOCi, a tech company, used an intelligent computer program to look at over 100 things, such as how customers review and rank restaurants on websites like Google, Yelp, and Facebook. This AI Tool helped them understand how people feel about different restaurant chains online.
Then, SoCi worked out a "reputation score" for each chain for their study based on five aspects: the average number of reviews per place, the rate of new reviews, the mix of positive and negative reviews, the time it takes to respond, and the average rating. One name stood out from the thousands of restaurants that were looked at.

AI Reveals 2023's Best Reputation Restaurant Chain
In the recent ranking of casual dining chains, The Cheesecake Factory led the pack with an impressive score of 75 out of 100. Olive Garden closely trailed with a score of 74, while Outback Steakhouse and Applebee's scored 64 and 60, respectively.
On the other end of the spectrum, California Pizza Kitchen, Buffalo Wild Wings, Denny's, and Chili's Grill & Bar each scored 58. This lower-scoring group highlights a significant need for better management of their online reputation.
Monica Ho, the chief marketing officer at SOCi, emphasized the importance of an excellent online reputation for restaurants in attracting customers.
According to her, chains with solid online reputations, like The Cheesecake Factory, stand a better chance of drawing in guests who rely on internet reviews for dining choices. Ho noted that more people are using online reviews to choose where to eat and to find new places.
It makes a restaurant's online presence crucial for its success, and how well it appears in local searches influences its ability to attract new customers. Managing this online image is vital for a restaurant's growth and local popularity.
Ho mentioned that restaurants risk losing trust and loyalty when they do not reply to customer feedback online. Therefore, a restaurant's success must interact with customers online and solve their issues.
In another industry area, Chick-fil-A received the highest score among fast-food chains in a separate SOCi study, achieving a 66 out of 100. It is another achievement for Chick-fil-A, a chain known for its high customer satisfaction levels year after year.

The Cheesecake Factory website revealed that in the 1940s, Evelyn Overton discovered a cheesecake recipe in a Detroit newspaper, leading to the creation of her "Original" cheesecake, which quickly gained popularity. Initially, she ran a small bakery but shifted focus to her family, continuing her baking from home and supplying cakes to local restaurants.
In 1972, Evelyn and her husband Oscar relocated to Los Angeles, investing their savings to open The Cheesecake Factory Bakery, selling her cheesecakes to various L.A. restaurants.
