Proud parents Chelsea Clinton and investment banker Marc Mezvinsky welcomed the birth of their baby girl Charlotte last Friday night.
According to a tweet from Chelsea, "Marc and I are full of love, awe and gratitude as we celebrate the birth of our daughter, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky," The proud Clinton grandparents, Bill and Hillary, were ecstatic and retweeted the wonderful message.
Last July 2010, Clinton and Mezvinsky got married in an interfaith ceremony in Rhinebeck, New York. Clinton announced to the public that they were expecting their first child last April 2014 at an event in New York City. At that time, she announced at the Girls: A No Ceilings Conversation the good news. "Marc and I are very excited that we have our first child arriving later this year. I certainly feel all the better whether it's a girl or a boy that they'll grow up in a world with so many strong female leaders."
After baby Charlotte's birth, former President Bill Clinton and Secretary Hillary Clinton made this announcement: "We are blessed, grateful, and so happy to be the grandparents of a beautiful girl, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky, born on Friday evening, September 26, 2014.We are thrilled to be with our daughter and her husband as they welcome their daughter into the world. Chelsea is well and glowing. Marc is bursting with pride. Charlotte's life is off to a good start".
Chelsea Victoria Clinton, 34, is the only child of former United States President Bill Clinton and former United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. She received an undergraduate degree at Stanford University and a master's degrees at Oxford University and Columbia University. She was a special correspondent from 2011 to 2014 for NBC News and is currently working for the Clinton Foundation and Clinton Global Initiative.
According to the proud and happy mother, "I just hope that I'll be as good to my child as my mom was to me."
