Metallica Tour Latest News: Band To Headline Along With Linkin Park And Deftones At The Upcoming Rock Weekend; Is James Hetfield Quitting?

| By

The Metallica Tour Latest News involves the band headlining along with other rock bands in the upcoming Rock Weekend.

According to Loudwire,

"Metallica will be one of the headliners on the Main Stage during the rock weekend, with Linkin Park and Deftones among the initial rock acts expected to take the stage during the weekend of May 8 and 9. The remainder of the bill will be revealed at a later date, but the three major rock acts is a great start."

As previously reported, The Metallica Tour is rumored to be an impending "last hurrah" as vocalist James Hetfield reportedly plans on quitting.

While this rumor is yet to be confirmed by the front man himself, the band is confirmed to release 27 live albums of every concert they played in in the year 2014.

According to Rolling Stone, "The group will be unrolling the releases in three-album batches each Monday through the end of the year in the order they played the shows, beginning with Bogotá, Colombia. It's also offering a box set of all 27 shows, which will ship in December. All sales will be conducted through the LiveMetallica website. Additionally, Metallica will be making four of the concerts available as limited-edition, 180-gram vinyl releases. As with the Metallica by Request concerts, fans will be able to vote on which concerts will be converted in to wax, which will occur here through September 28th. The most popular records will be available in early 2015. The group is promising more releases and box sets next year, as well. Metallica's 'By Request' tour was notable not just for allowing fans to select the songs the group but for allowing the band to premiere a new song. The group, which is currently concentrating its efforts on writing a follow-up to 2008's Death Magnetic, debuted 'Lords of Summer' in Bogotá this past March. At the time, drummer Lars Ulrich told Rolling Stone that the song was 'fairly representative of where our creative headspace is at right now.' In April, he estimated that the band was in the 'fourth inning' of the creative process for making the new record." This entry definitely excites fans from all over the world about the Metallica Tour.

As for the Metallica tour latest news and rumors about lead James Hetfield's plans on qutting, the band have yet to release a statement whether this is even remotely true or not.
