The Manny Pacquiao versus Floyd Mayweather fight is now underway. Unfortunately, the fight is not in the boxing ring but in social media like Twitter.
The social media sparring started this September when Manny made some remarks hinting that Floyd is "not educated". Pacquiao made the comments when he was asked why a match between him and Mayweather has not yet been set up.
This week, Floyd testified at the Nevada State Athletic Commission that scenes and events on his Showtime All Access Reality TV are actually staged. A scene at All Access showed the use of Marijuana by some of the casts.
Pacquiao tweeted his views on the matter, "@FloydMayweather's testimony to the commission on All Access 'authenticity tells me everything I need to know about his desire to fight me."
Floyd fired back with his own tweet and a picture post in Instagram picture, "My new boxing DVD is coming soon and is called "3 Ways to Sleep. Back, Face and Butt and I'm Falling & I Can't Get Up..." Floyd was alluding to Pacquiao's earlier fight where he lost the match.
Floyd followed with another tweet, "...Miss Pac Man is broke and desperate for a pay day. Your Pay-Per-View numbers are a joke."
When a possible Manny Pacquiao versus Floyd Mayweather fight was first announced, boxing fans were thrilled by such match. However, it seems that most boxing aficionados have given up, seeing such a match would ever take place.
For now, we could only watch the boxing champs slug it out on social media like Twitter and Instagram. The chances of their match ever taking place get slimmer by the day. Both Mayweather and Pacquiao are not getting any younger. Each is focusing on careers other than boxing. Mayweather has his own reality show, while Pacquiao on the other hand, is now a Congressman in his hometown.
The Manny Pacquiao versus Floyd Mayweather fight will probably never happen. But if it does happen, what a match would that be.
