Fans of Lexus were informed by Yahoo that the company is going to team up with musician and aspiring designer Will.i.am. Together, they were able to develop a "extremely stylized" model of 2015 NX. The 2015 NX was unveiled at Paris Fashion Week and feedbacks have been good. This is not the first time that the Black Eyed Peas member ventured into automotive design, but critics believed that this is the best one yet.
Will.i.am is present at the event to show his latest automotive design. The car is a custom NX but it is base on an entry-level NX 200t F Sport Package. There had been many modifications in the unit, but the one that stand out is the wider body kit with aluminum and carbon vinyl. It also has a matte pearl white finish with a black tinted panoramic glass roof. The customized Lexus has a 22-inch alloy wheels in gloss black hue that are contracted with orange calipers.
If the body has been massively modified, Will.i.am does the same to the interior. The upholstery was made from fine Nappa leather and it bears Will.i.am's hand-embroidered "Willpower" logo. The color scheme of the interior - monochrome- is according to the singer's specification and style.
Aside from its unique design, the car boasts 180-degree cameras that can take picture of the surroundings and capture video while driving. What's more innovative and surprising is that the photos and the videos can be displayed or play immediately on the driver's or the passenger's smartphones via Bluetooth. Lexus combined this feature with a wireless charging tray at the center of the car's console box.
Will.i.am said, "I am honored to be launching my bespoke Lexus NX F Sport in Paris; this car is super fresh and incorporates my personal style. My point of view is, the best kind of design will encourage other people to interpret that design."
