People and paparazzi had been taking photos of Jeremy Renner's wife these past few months and they didn't even know it
The 'Avengers' star shocked the world earlier this year when he announced that he was going to be a father. He shocked fans again earlier this month, when he casually admitted that he was indeed married to his baby mama, Sonni Pacheco.
The 43-year-old actor sat down with Capitol File Magazine for an interview to talk about his upcoming movies and his life.
He called Pacheco his "wife" and when asked if he was indeed married, the Oscar-nominated actor answered in the positive.
"I have tried to protect my family's privacy, my wife's privacy," he told Capitol File Magazine (via ABC News), explaining the reason why he married in secret. "I don't need her to get hammered with my life. Privacy issues are important because I want her to go about her day without being bothered."
He may have played such hardcore characters in movies, but as a family man, he's just a lovesick fool for his daughter, Ava.
He even admits that his 6-month-old baby girl "ruined my life."
"I really mean it, she has ruined it," he said. "Because what I used to think I loved so much - I love my job, I love what I do and I've given my entire life to what I do - and she comes around and kind of steps all over that."
Renner continued, "It's like, 'Well, you know, you don't love that so much! You love me more,' [she says]. And 'You're right, I do, I love you more than anything on this planet.'"
Jeremy Renner's wife and daughter have changed his perspective on a lot of things in his life. He still does have to go and shoot movies but being away from his family has become "painful" to him.
He has no choice, however, because "daddy's got to go to work, got to provide, got to hunt and gather."
So how does he deal with the distance?
The 'Kill The Messenger' star said technology is a great help.
"[We] FaceTime here and there, and videos and photos kind of get me through," he said.
Right now, Jeremy Renner's wife and daughter are the most important in his life.
"It's unbelievable how she's sort of killed my love for movies," he admitted. "Because now I know what unconditional love is, an amazing, amazing thing ... the reason why I go do things is now for her. So, thank you for that Ava, because it's freed me from myself."
