The singer-couple have split according to E! News' sources. The ‘No Air’ singer Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo who was famous for his song ‘In My Head’ has called it quits after two years of being together.
The pair was first romantically linked in September of 2011; this was the same year where Derulo released the song ‘It Girl’ where Sparks was also featured.
Sparks and Derulo expressed their love everywhere – on the red carpet, during interviews and press cons and on social media. In 2013, engagement rumors started budding when the 25-year-old recording artist proposed to Sparks, 24, in the music video for "Marry Me," which was inspired by their real-life romance.
During the 2013 MTV Awards, Derulo admitted that the song was actually about her. "It is about Jordin, actually," he said, "And it's talking about how amazing it will be when I get down on one knee and it will be the greatest moment of my life.” He also added, "You can't fake anything because true love is true love, and that's the basis of our relationship."
After the singer was recovering from broken vertebrae, Sparks was there to support him and he later told E! News that it was after that moment he "definitely" knew Jordin was the one.
"Of course we have our problems just like anybody else," he admitted, "But our relationship is a positive one and that's good for people to see in today's entertainment industry."
Sources say that “they still care very deeply for each other” and that the break up was completely mutual.
