Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 release date was earlier than the newest variants of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 variants. This phablet is affordable yet competitive phablet for the mass market is now on sale in Asia.
The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 is now official on Samsung's website. It is now retailed in Malaysia and Thailand for quote some time now.
According to Droid Sans, a Thai website, that got their hands on the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2. It comes with a 6.0 inch, 720 x 1280 Super AMOLED display. Which is larger than the previous Samsung Galaxy Mega that carries 5.8in and 6.3in. The new Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 carries 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 4415 processor and 1.5 Gb of RAM 16Gb of internal storage and expandable memory. Though it is classified as a mid-ranger phone, it is still a one powerful device, Other specifications include NFC (Near Field Communication), KitKit Android 4.4.4 and a 2,800mAh battery thats powerful enouggh to keep the phone running all day. The phone also supports 4G LTE which allow users to browse at the fastest internet connection available.
The Thai website also revealed its price 14,500 Baht (around £280, $450, AU$485).
The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 that is now available in the market offers an 8 MP rear camera and 2.1MP front camera, but according to some rumors there will be another version that will offer a 16MP camera, and a Chinese version with 13MP camera.
The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 looks different from its predecessor. Its design is a resemblance of the Galaxy Note 3 with faux leather at the back.
Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 release date to western countries has not been officially announced. But expected to retail at $400, and it is now for sale in Malaysia and Thailand.
Its is also rumored to be available on AT&T next month, and other US carriers might offer it soon.
