Blackberry has already sent its 'cryptic' invites to its launch in world's three major key cities: London, Toronto and Dubai. Though it does not reveal any detail about the product to be launched. Its headline "See the Bigger Picture" hints the launch of the new Blackberry Passport..
A day before its expected launch the Blackberry Passport has unveiled.
Blackberry's CEO John Chen revealed the Blackberry Passport during an interview on Monday, ahead of the company's event.
As it was rumored the Blackberry Passport sports a 4.5-inch,said to offer a similar viewing space to a 5-inch phone, but 'an even better viewing experience' because of the screen's width, and 1440x1440 pixel resolution display with a pixel density of 453ppiu
The Blackberry Passport is powered by a 2.2GHz quad- core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974- AA) processor; an Adreno 330 GPU; 3GB of RAM; 32GB of inbuilt storage, expandable storage via microSD card (up to 64GB); a 13- megapixel rear camera with BSI sensor; a 2- megapixel front camera, and a 3450mAh battery.
It also support Nano-SIM while supporting Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, NFC, GPS, Glonass, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, and 4G LTE connectivity options.
CEO John Chen told the Wall Street Journal that the price of the flagship device should be in the region of $799, but his firm dropped the price to 'get the market interested.'
It also boasts a 60 character display in a single line compared to 40 characters in most smartphone today.
This feature makes the Blackberry Passport 'the ideal device for reading e-books, viewing documents and browsing the web.'
Blackberry Passport will be available in the US as sim-free at $599, and most like in Dubai, Toronto and London. Though pricing has not been released for these regions.
