Pink Floyd's new album after quietly disbanding and dormancy for twenty years has been given a release date.
Along with the announcement for the release date of Pink Floyd's new album were its cover and tracklist.
The record, which is reportedly a "four-sided instrumental album," was produced by David Gilmour, Phil Manzanera, Martin "Youth" Glover and Andy Jackson.
According to a statement made by the band's drummer Nick Mason, "The Endless River" is "a tribute to Rick Wright."
"I think this record is a good way of recognizing a lot of what he does and how his playing was at the heart of the Pink Floyd sound," Mason added.
In a statement, Gilmour - the band's guitarist - said the album was drawn from ideas during their production of their last album "The Division Bell" in 1994.
"The 'Endless River' has as its starting point the music that came from the 1993 'Division Bell' sessions," Gilmour shared.
"We listened to over 20 hours of the three of us playing together and selected the music we wanted to work on for the new album," he continued. "Over the last year we've added new parts, re-recorded others and generally harnessed studio technology to make a 21st century Pink Floyd album."
The cover art for the album was reportedly based on the design by an 18-year-old Egyptian artist Ahmed Emad Eldin, and was edited by Stylorouge.
