The rivalry between Apple and Samsung is on the roll again as the iPhone 6 vs. Samsung Galaxy Alpha have been released by their respective makers this third quarter of the year.
The iPhone 6, together with its cousin, the iPhone 6 Plus, has been officially launched on Friday, kicking off sales and even pre-order sales, setting a new record for Apple.
Meanwhile, dubbed as "the sleekest Samsung Galaxy smartphone ever", the Galaxy Alpha has not been officially announced or released by Samsung, but samsung.com/uk lists some selected ratailers where this new device could be bought.

The iPhone 6 is made of "seamless bond of metal and glass that feels like one continuous surface," according to Apple. While the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is built "with a high-quality metal frame."
Although they are both metal-bodied, their distinction in terms of shape is very prominent. The Galaxy Alpha has corners, which we know are more inherent to iPhones. Meanwhile, the iPhone 6 seems to be trying the curvy design, which is interestingly Samsung is known for.
Display
When it comes to display, the two smartphones are same with 4.7-inch display. The Galaxy Alpha boasts of HD Super AMOLED display with 720 x 1280 pixels while the iPhone 6 prides the new Retina HD display with 1334 x 750 resolution.
The Galaxy Alpha is thinner at 6.7 mm than the 6.9 mm thickness the iPhone 6.
Memory
The Galaxy Alpha has 32-gb internal memory and is the only Samsung smartphone that has no card slot for expandable memory, making it same with iPhone 6. The Alpha has also a RAM of 2 gb.
However, the iPhone 6 is available at different internal memories: 16, 64, and 128 GB all with 1-gb RAM.
Hardware
The iPhone 6 is powered by new iOS8 with A8 64-bit chip with M8 motion coprocessor. It also has

In terms of camera, the iPhone 6 has 8 MP (3264 x 2448 pixels) primary camera compared to 12 MP (4608 x 2592 pixels) of the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, which also comes with 2.1-MP secondary camera. The iPhone 6 goes with 1.2-MP front camera.
Battery
The iPhone 6 still has non-removable Li-Po 1810 mAh battery (6.9 Wh) in contrast with that of the Galaxy Alpha with Li-Ion 1860 mAh battery.
