During the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus launch, Apple chief Tim Cook gamely took part in the excitement of iPhone fanatics queuing outside an Apple store on Friday, a report said.
According to AFP, Cook joined "selfies" and shook hands with customers lining outside the Apple store in the city of Palo Alto before it opened.
Wanting to share in the excitement, Cook was asked for "selfies" by some customers and was quick to quip: "Sure, as long as it's with an iPhone."
Being at Apple is truly a privilege as Cook proudly teased that he has had both an iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus for months now.
Cook also participated in a clapping count-down before the glass front door of the store opened and the iPhone buying started, which was also launched at markets in Singapore, Britain, France, Germany, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
Earlier this month, Apple said it received more than four million pre-orders in the first 24 hours that the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus went on sale, setting a new record for the tech giant.
It added that "demand for the new iPhones exceeds the initial pre-order supply and while a significant amount will be delivered to customers beginning on Friday and throughout September, many iPhone pre-orders are scheduled to be delivered in October."
AFP also reported that buyers from China are deprived of the said launch due to licensing problems in the country.
Buyers from this country resorted to going to Japan on Friday to join in the queue of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus excited customers.
Some 20 more countries will get the new iPhones from September 26, AFP added.
The iPhone 6 is available at 16 GB ($199), 64 GB ($299 GB), and 128 GB ($399,) while the iPhone 6 Plus is sold at 16 GB ($299), 64 GB ($399 GB), and 128 GB ($499).
