Lady Gaga News: 'The Fame' Singer Talks About Split With Long-time Manager And How Money Has Affected Her Creativity; Shares Her 'Happy Time' Doing 'Cheek To Cheek' Album With Tony Bennett

New Lady Gaga news suggests that the pop singer is now enjoying "a very happy time" in her life after her hip surgery, and going separate ways with her long-time manager.

According to an interview with AP, Lady Gaga said: "I've very centered now. I meditate a lot. I'm happy. I am more sober than I've ever been. It's a very happy time in my life."

Known for her artistry and superb talent, Gaga refuses to believe she has freely flown as an artist. She also mentioned herself as an overworked artist and that greed is one factor for her split with her long-time manager.

"Part of what was making my sort of artistic experience so unpleasant was that I felt that I was not able to truly freely fly as an artist. In some ways my talents were not being used to their full potential."

In November last year, the Grammy award-winning musician and her manager since 2007 Troy Carter split.

When asked if her disagreements with management affected the making of her album "ARTPOP", the 28-year-old musician said, "It certainly affected my mind during "ARTPOP". I would have to say that whole situation had less to do with creativity differences and more to do with me really needing some time from myself to be creative."

She narrated how her difficult schedule had affected her creativity and how her music is more important than the money she makes.

"My schedule was way too difficult, I was not able to keep up and my whole business became very focused on making as much money as possible as quickly as possible, which is really not where my heart is," the songwriter said.

She added: "My integrity as a musician is so much more important to me than money. ... While I was making "ARTPOP," I was very tired. I'm actually very proud of ARTPOP."

Gaga, who is now on an international tour, credited part of her happiness to working with Tony Bennett for the album "Cheek to Cheek", which was released last week.

In a report by NPR, Gaga shared her experiences in doing the album with Bennett and what it contributed in her noisy life.

"He's brought out a subtlety in me that I've missed for a while, because my life is very noisy," the "Poker Face" singer said. "It's a lot harder to sing with auto-tune, in a way, you know? It's a lot harder to sing with rigid electronic music and lots of spectacle. It can be very difficult, because it's not always extremely natural."

Bennett, on the other hand, has good words for the "The Fame" hit maker.

"She's actually a very authentic jazz singer," he said. "She'll turn a phrase, she'll make it different, because of the moment that she's singing. And so, what happens is it keeps the songs alive; the interpretations become very intimate and everlasting."
