It won't take long for Madonna to feature all her talented kids as backing dancers not just in her videos but in live performances as well. The moment, it seems, belongs to David Banda, the Malawi boy who just turned nine last week. He is the most serious at this time to bring his dancing groove to a higher level. The boy, auditioned last week for his famous mother's next single, Living for Love. Madonna was a picture of a doting mother, all support for David. She posted the audition video in Instagram on September 18, with hashtag, "#banda getting ready to audition for his mom!"
Madonna, the Material Girl who set a different pace for women performers during his emergence in the 1980s with her sing and dance act mixed with controversial moves on stage (like Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga of today) to get the spotlight, transforms into on a different persona when it comes to her children.
She has four kids: Lourdes and Rocco are her biological children from previous relationships, Carlos Leon, the dancer, and Guy Ritchie, the British director. David Banda and Mercy James are her adopted children from Malawi. Though Madonna did not share her performance genes to the boy, her influence alone was enough to pass on her talents to the boy. Or maybe, Madonna was lucky to chance on the boy when she spotted him in the orphanage, clueless that the 12-month old at the time, could dance.
But it is endearing to see that three of Madonna's kids are natural performers. Not surprising with Lourdes, her exact replica, in gender and looks. Or Rocco, whose break dancing skills was first exhibited when he was aged 10 and much later on, in one of Madonna's 2010 shows.
Stay tune on Madonna's Instagram for a video, this time of Mercy James.
