Daniel Radcliffe News: Former 'Harry Potter' Star Pays Debt Of Two Years Over Taxi Fare

A tweet by Conor Mullally, one of the players of the Dublin Minor Football League, stated that actor Daniel Radcliffe paid back the taxi fare he owed these gents a couple of years ago.

In 2012, three members of the Dublin Minor Football League met Radcliffe in a street in Dublin after the league won the All-Ireland Victory that year. They invited him to a party after striking a long conversation and the actor realized that he wasn't carrying any money on him so he had to borrow some from them.

Radcliffe sent 50 euros together with a note thanking the gentlemen for paying for his cab that night.

Daniel Radcliffe, 25, is an English actor known for portraying Harry in the Harry Potter movie series for a decade. The movie series lasted for 10 years with 8 films released. Radcliffe started his career at the age of 10 where he made his debut as a yong David Copperfield in BBC One's two part adaptation of the novel David Cooperfield. After he started acting on the set of Harry Potter, Radcliffe's schedule was so tight that it was difficult for him to concetrate in school. He eventually chose not to attend college.

Radcliffe's parents initially did not want him to audition for the role of Harry Potter since they were told that the movie will be shot in Los Angeles. But after eight months of auditions and casting, Radcliffe was chosen by director Chris Columbus thinking that they could not have found a better Harry for the movie.

After the release of the first movie, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in 2001, it became the highest grossing film that year and broke film records for opening day as well as opening weekend sales. THe film earned a total of $974 million in ticket sales.

The other seven Harry Potter series also did well throughout the years. The last movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2 had broken several records such as the biggest first day opening, biggest opening day weekend and biggest midnight release. The movie generated $1.3 billion worldwide and is currenlty the fourth highest grossing film of all time.
