The 49-year-old American actor has been in the brighter and darker side of Hollywood through his years in the industry. He first appeared in the film "Pound" with his father, Robert Downey Sr. at a tender age of 5. He continued on to make movies, and gained critical acclaim in his portrayal of Charlie Chaplin in the film "Chaplin" in 1992.

Robert Downey Jr. new movies include "Gothika" (2003), "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" (2005), "A Scanner Darkly" (2006), "Sherlock Holmes" (2009), and his multi-million dollar character Tony Stark in the movie franchise, "Iron Man" (2008, 2010, 2013).

After "Iron Man 3" in 2013, fans have continued to clamour for the next installment. However, in an interview with Variety on the possibility of the fourth "Iron Man", Robert Downey Jr. on his new movie replies briefly, "There isn't one in the pipe. No, there's no plan for a fourth 'Iron Man'".

Marvel's "Iron Man" is almost a close definite to the fourth instalment and a Robert Downey Jr. new movie, however, Downey has been insisting there isn't going to be one. Speculations have surfaced that Tony Stark might soon be re-casted.

On this matter, Robert Downey Jr. has some thoughts on his leaving the suit early during the "Iron Man 2" release. In an interview with Empire, he says, "Let's just say that the only thing I ever let go of had claw marks in it. There's a little bit of soul reclamation going on. I feel that the first time I played Tony, I did it best. Sorry! The affinity with Tony now is: How do you sustain something? I'm not stupid, I like to play ball, I love the company, I love the character, and the business side of things, I'm not too picky about that either."

Robert Downey Jr. new movies reportedly include the 2015 release of "Star Wars: Episode VII" and the film adaptation "Assassin's Creed".
