D'Aloisius made his $30 million when he was just 17. When asked if he was rolling around London with his Bentley, he humbly responds that he has not done anything frivolous like that.
Nick's father, Lou Montilla, is a Vice President at Morgan Stanley and his mom Diana D'Aloisio, is a lawyer.
Nick D'Aloisio is an Australian-born British entrepreneur and computer programmer. This 18-year-old is the creator of summarization, artificial intelligence technology Summly. At the age of 15, he is the youngest venture capitalist in the technology business.
The young teenager created the Trimit application for iOS in 2011. This application, which caught the eye of Apple Inc, was used as an analystical tool to condense text content into a 1000,500 or 140-character summary text. Apple featured Nick's creation on the App Store.
This also caught the eye of overseas Hong Kong billionaire Li Ka-Shing, who funded D'Aloisio with $300,000. On December 2011, just months after the iitial release of Trimit, D'Aloisio redesigned the application and launched it as Summly. A year after its launch, D'Aloisio received additional funding from celebrites such as Ashton Kutcher and Yoko Ono.
D'Aloisio sold Summly to Yahoo Inc for $30 million dollars last March 2013. He received the award of "innovator of the Year" by Wall Street Journal in New York City for his Summly and Yahoo success. He was also included in Time Magazine as one of the most infuential teenagers.In 2012 and 2013, D'Aloisio was named in the Top 1000 Influential Londoner by Evening Standard, 30 under 30 list for Forbes Magazine, 100 Most Connected Men of 2014 by GQ Magazine and Top 100 things to Watch by Mail on Sunday.
D'Aloisio's work and success were covered by several publications such as Business Insider and Forbes and was featured on television in CNBC, Bloomberg and BBC.
