Penguin, Fish Mooney, the Riddler, and Poison Ivy, these are just some of the villains that are sure to appear in the upcoming Fox series Gotham which is based on the early days of the city before Bruce Wayne became the Batman. Earlier Gotham TV Series spoiler revealed that starting from the first few episodes, James Gordon (played by Ben McKenzie) will have his hands full with a number of villains that wants to ruin the city. The number of villains might pile up though as the Fox series progresses.
In an interview, executive producer Bruno Heller said that the show will not put any limit to the potential villains that will come to the show.
"The simple answer is: No. We're ready to go with any of them [Batman's villains]," Heller said during a media conference.
"We haven't excluded anyone from the mix potentially, but generally what we're looking at is characters where there is some drama or a story behind how they got to be the way they are," added Heller. "We're looking for characters who live in the real world of Gotham as opposed to the even more super real world of Metropolis if you like. It's not about super powers, it's about super will, if you like. We veer towards those characters who are interesting as people, rather than interesting for their particular power or their particular gimmick or their costume."
One super villain that has been synonymous to Batman is the Joker. However, there's no mention yet on earlier Gotham TV series spoiler whether he will appear or not. One villain that 'might' appear is Killer Croc. On the same interview, Heller said that this villain, which appeared in Batman #358 (April 1983), might be given consideration.
"There are certainly characters that would be very difficult to put on the screen. That crocodile guy is a tough one - although we may go there," he said.
