'Batman V Superman' Actor Ben Affleck Confessed Counting Cards at A Casino; Star Disproves Divorce Rumors Linked To His Gambling; Says Tabloid Is S--t

"Batman V Superman" star Ben Affleck faced some of the toughest questions, including his supposed gambling habits, in a no-holds-barred interview by a magazine which he also graces.

Together with director David Fincher, Affleck narrated how he relates with his new movie "Gone Girl"--a story that touched how media threaded a mesh of lies, E! News reported.

In the story, Affleck's character Nick Dunne loses his job as journalist and finds himself at the middle of apparent media spectacle when he is suspected to have a hand on his wife's disappearance.

The 42-year-old actor told Detail magazine: "I'm accustomed to all kinds of absurdity, so I expect that. No matter what.

"So I know some people will react in a ridiculous way. And I'm just at a point now where it could have been about anything, it could have been about the most painful thing in my life-which this doesn't happen to be-but to me it's just all about the director. Who you work with...Are people going to ask me asinine questions, from the press? You just can't get away from that. I can promise you that will happen."

The Oscar-winning actor was also pressed about his gambling, after it was reported that he had been banned for life from playing black jack after the Hard Rock security allegedly caught him on camera counting cards, according to Variety in May.

The actor did not deny it but he set the records straight: "That is a true story. I mean, that took place.

"I took some time to learn the game and became a decent blackjack player. And once I became decent, the casinos asked me not to play blackjack. I mean, the fact that being good at the game is against the rules at the casinos should tell you something about casinos," he added.

Variety also reported that an unnamed source said the hotel invited Affleck and wife Jennifer Garner back to the casino, but this time to play other games.

In the interview with the magazine, Affleck also denied that he was kicked out of the casinos. He said these rumors are all tabloid talks.

"I wish I could say they were afraid of me in every capacity, but they only said, 'No blackjack,' That would be awesome [if they threw me out]. 'Get him outta here! He's a magician!' Unfortunately, they just came up and said, 'We can't let you play blackjack. But we have other table games! We have Chinese poker!'"

"Batman V Superman" star Ben Affleck's also slammed rumors that Garner wants a divorce because of his gambling habits.

"See, that's tabloid s--t. That's all bulls-t.

"They completely lie. I mean, I can show you 10 articles of Star and OK!-those magazines feel totally comfortable absolutely fictionalizing every single element of the story. And there's nothing you can do about that. My only hope is that people with any common sense recognize that those stories are false. And, I don't know, there're worse stories..."

Affleck's experience with the media circus made him the best choice for "Gone Girl" film according to Fincher.

"I did not want to entrust that character to somebody who doesn't understand what that [the tabloid media] is... And you had to have an actor who understands what a slippery slope that is," said Fincher.

"Batman V Superman" star Ben Affleck's latest film "Gone Girl" hits theaters on October 4, 2014.
