Netroplitan a social media for the rich. This kind of social media is not new to us, as we can remember Social1000 tried it way back in 2008.
James Touchi- Peters founded this social media designed for the rich and launhed his app just this week.
The Netropolitan founder told The Register.
"No one has ever thought of charging a substantial fee for social network membership of a social network, it still astonishes me."
"I started researching this four years ago and was astonished that no one had tried the one thing that physical clubs have been doing for one or two hundred years."
Furthermore, according to PCmag Netropolitan is a new social network that bills itself as "the online country club for people with more money than time." The fee to join the social networking site is $9000 annually the fee includes $6,000 initiation fee, plus a $3,000 annual fee. "You must be 21 to join. You'll supposedly be able to chat with like-minded individuals, though Netropolitan declined to provide details about its user base." stated by PCMag.
"We simply cannot stress enough how important preserving our members' privacy is to us," the company said. "Other than announcing that at our launch we already had several hundred members, we will never publicly state the exact number of members in the club. And especially, we will NEVER release or verify the identity of any of our members - ever."
Basically Netropolitan is more likely a facebook clone with almost similar features. Users also gets unlimited cloud storage. But the company emphasized that this is an ad-free site.
"Please understand that Netropolitan is NOT a concierge service," the company said. "Our Member Service Associates will not book you a charter jet, or find you tickets to a sold-out Broadway show. They exist solely to help members technically navigate and find their way around the social" the founder explained.
Can Netropolitan attract 'rich' users? Let's wait for the coming days. Share your thought with us!
