The latest "The Newsroom" season 3 teaser showed Will McAvoy, Mackenzie McHale and the rest of the crew get filmed as cameras start rolling for the final season of the hit series.
Set to air on November 9, the new "The Newsroom" season 3 teaser entitled "Stolen Moments" showed the real crew behind the show giving out instructions in blocking as well as laughing in between takes while the production crew of "News Night" stands by and performs their acting duties.
Nicole Massabrook wote for International Business Times that this new "The Newsroom" season 3 teaser is probably a part of the six final episodes of the show wherein the characters do not look particularly happy to be reporting the news.
"The trailer shows actors Jeff Daniels, Allison Pill, Olivia Munn and more in the newsroom -- and no one looks particularly happy. They'll still be dealing with the aftermath of Genoa when Season 3 starts, and creator Aaron Sorkin told an audience at the Tribeca Film Festival that the show would be tackling the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing in the final episodes," the article said.
Meanwhile, website Cattermat.com also observed the "meta" feel of the newest teaser of the show.
"This teaser had a particularly meta feel to it, mostly because you were seeing two different things play out throughout. First, you had the camera crew filming the show, and then you had the fake camera crew filming the fake news show. It's an interesting take on proceedings that bends our minds a little bit," said the article.
However, the article also pointed out the teaser did not particularly show anything that would clue viewers in to the storyline of the next season.
"Upon first glance, nothing was happening of substance outside of seeing Aaron Sorkin and company; we watched again to see if we could spot a wedding ring on Mackenzie's finger to see what had happened in her personal life since we last saw the character, but the camera didn't pan down far enough," Cattermat.com added.
