2014 has seen its reboots, remakes and sequels in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For, 22 Jump street and Godzilla 2. With all the movies coming out in 2015, it seems that the box office will once again be dominated by sequels and reboots, most notably with the coming of Avengers: Age of Ultron, the follow up to the highest grossing comic book box office film, expected to come out at the start of summer.
Elsewhere there's plenty to expect next year, most prominent is the Star Wars Episode VII, and the highly anticipated dinosaur flick starring 'Guardians of The Galaxy' actor Chris Pratt in the revamped 'Jurassic World'. In super hero side of things we can expect Captain America 3 and the crossover of titans in Batman vs. Superman.
Mad Max, a long dormant franchise who is getting its sequel in Mad Max: Fury Road will star "Dark Knight Rises" actor Tom Hardy replacing Mel Gibson as Max Rockatansky. Fury Road will be the fourth film in the series, at the helm of the project is the original Mad Max director George Miller. Reported to co-star Hardy are actors Nicholas Hoult (X Men: First Class), Charlize Theron(Aeon Flux) and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (Transformers)
There have been a few productions delays concerning the filming of Max Max: Fury Road. The project first entered its hiatus in 2003 because of security concerns involving filming in Nambia, when the US tightened travelling and shipping restrictions at the height of the Iraq war, also considering the movie could potentially be a political film.
Fast-forward to today, the movie has continued with its production. Warner Bros. reportedly even sent an extra producer out to the filming location in Namibia to oversee the project making sure that filming went along as planned. Not surprising since this installment has the largest budget in all of the films estimated at $100-125 million. Tom Hardy also has been reported doing re-shoots to add material.
Mad Max Fury Road has been reported to have a May 15, 2015 release date.
