Have you watched the "I Know What You Did Last Summer" full movie? Perhaps a movie recap is a must for the benefit of youngsters.

According to IMDb, the story goes around four friends who accidentally hit and killed a man by car at road at one night of summer. After panicking, the group decided to dump the body into the sea. After a year when they had thought that everything seemed normal, one of them received a note with words: "I know what you did last summer." The friends were reminded of their sin and accepted to themselves that someone knew what had happened that one night of summer. And the revenge went on.

Now, almost two decades after the "I Know What You Did Last Summer" full movie was released, Sony Pictures wants to remake this horror film, according to Deadline.

"I Know What You Did Last Summer" was written by Mike Flanagan and Jeff Howard, and was launched in 1997 earning $125 million worldwide.

The movie, which starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, is an adaptation of the same title novel by Lois Duncan.

Its sequel "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer" that was released a year after, grossed $84 million says Variety.

Variety also reported that Neil Moritz, who also produced the movie in 1997, will be producing the same film. Flanagan and Howard will reprise their role as writers for the reboot.

On his Twitter account on Monday, Flanagan expressed his gladness for writing the remake and denied to be the one directing the horror flick.

"Happy to be writing a new "I Know What You Did Last Summer." (I'm NOT, however, directing or producing... Not sure where that came from)"

According to Deadline, sources said the film is a high priority for Sony and is planned for a 2016 release.
