In November last year, it was announced the "Persona 5" release date was set for 2014. However, changes in production have caused the delay, fans excited about the changes.
"Persona 5" is the fifth installment to the Japanese role-playing video game "Shin Megami Tensei: Persona" series. The story focuses on teenagers who are able to summon aspects of their psyche.
The first "Persona" was released in 1996 for PlayStation, an re-released in 1999 for Microsoft Windows. Followed by "Persona 2: Innocent Sin" in 1990, and "Persona 2: Eternal Punishment" in 2000. The next three sequels "Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3" (2006), "Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES" (2007), and "Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4" (2008) were all released for PlayStation 2. "Persona 4 Arena" and "Persona Arena Ultimax" released consecutively in 2012 and 2013, we created for Arcade, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
"Persona" games were also created for handheld consoles such as the PlayStation Portable, Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita.
Rumors of development of "Persona 5" have been circling online beginning 2009 after Katsura Hashino was named director by Sony. In his interview with Famitsu, the director made a few announcements after releasing "Persona 4", sharing points that a new "Persona" game will be made available soon.
He says in the interview, "Yes, this past year or so, we've caused you fans who've been supporting Atlus to worry, and we haven't been able to find the right timing to bring you any announcements, so we truly apologize for that. With the thought of being able to present a new game to you all soon, we zealously continued development, and are very grateful to have been able tot make such an announcement this time!"
Previous "Persona 5" release date has been announced for November of last year for only PlayStation 3. However, recent updates have revealed that "Persona 5" release date has been set for 2015, but for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles. Worth the wait!
