This fresh The Flash CW Series Spoiler is probably not the kind that you'd expect. It was first reported that the original Barry Allen, John Wesley Shipp, is part of this new CW series as Barry's father. Shipp played Barry Allen in 1990 under CBS. Now, CW is trying to pay tribute to the original ones by hiring them for the show that is set to premier on October 7 with Grant Gustin on the starring role.
Aside from Shipp, another major 1990 the Flash character will join the show. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Amanda Pays, who was Shipp's love interest in the CBS series, will REPRISE her role as Dr. McGee. Yes, she will play the same role. But of course, at 55 years old, it would be awkward to put her as Gustin's love interest. Still, her role is as big as what she had 24 years ago.
THR's The Flash CW Series Spoiler read:
"Amanda Pays, who co-starred in CBS' 1990s The Flash TV series opposite John Wesley Shipp's Barry Allen, will reprise her role as Dr. Tina McGee on the upcoming The CW drama, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Dr. McGee was an expert geneticist, who was Barry's main ally and love interest. When Pays' alter ego returns to Central City this go-around, she'll be an employee of a rival company to STAR Labs. Shipp, it was revealed back in June, plays Henry, Barry Allen's father."
The CBS The Flash series lasted only for 22 episodes. If everything goes well, Shipp and Pays might outrun their own show. Aside from Pays, among the latest additions in the show are Dominic Purcell as Heatwave, Clancy Brown as General Wade Eiling and Tomorrow People's Robbie Amell as one-half of Firestorm.
