Apple iPhone 6 Plus vs Samsung Galaxy Note 4: Will The New Apple's Phablet Beat The 4th Generation Samsung Galaxy Note 4? We've Compared Them For You!

Apple finally launched its first phablet the iPhone 6 Plus.

The biggest tech company took a big leap in its new iPhone device. Following the success of Android phablets. Samsung had been dominated all the phablets that are in the market today with its three generations of Galaxy Note phablets and its new Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

Steve Jobs once said that no one would buy those phablets. But now here's Apple with its first phablet. Will this newbie a tough competitor of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4? Let's take a look at their design, specs and features.

Design

Apple is known build their phones with high-quality aluminum finish. The iPhone 6 Plus has a resemblance with the HTC One M8 with a unibody construction. While Samsung Galaxy Note 4 carries the faux leather back we've seen in the Note 3 with metal edges.

The iPhone 6 Plus measures 158.1mm x 77.8mm x 7.1mm, slightly thinner - than the Note 4's 152 x 80 x 7.6 mm proportions.

Though the iPhone 6 Plus is aluminum finish it is lighter than the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 at 172g and the latter 176g.

The iPhone 6 Plus comes in the 5s's color variants gold, silver and 'space gray'. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be available in white, black, gold and pink.

Screen

It was expected that the iPhone will offer larger screens. The iPhone 6 Plus comes in a 5.5-inch canvas and a "Retina HD" resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (401 pixels per inch). Apple sticks with its LCD panel IPS and 'dual domain' technology to ensure bright colors and wide viewing angles. Its display is equivalent to 1080p screen.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 carries an incredible 2560 x 1440 Quad HD. Its Super AMOLED technology makes it 45% more pixels than the iPhone 6 Plus.

Camera

The Note 4 sports the same 16MP sensor found in the Galaxy S5 with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and 4K video recording at 30fps and a wide-angle 3.7MP front camera.

In the iPhone 6 Plus, Apple sticks with a 1/3-inch 8MP 'iSight' sensor with True Tone flash on the rear, and 1.2MP 'FaceTime' camera on the front.

Performance

The iPone 6 Plus is armed with a dual-core 64-bit A8 processor - an upgrade over the 5S' A7 processor, with Apple claims it is 25% faster, with 50% faster graphics. It runs in its latest Apple iOS 8.

While Samsung Galaxy Note 4 first Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor to feature in a smartphone, clocked at 2.7GHz, Adreno 420 GPU graphics and supported by Android 4.4 KitKat.

Apple has finally improved its storage. The iPhone 6 Plus comes with 128Gb internal storage and other models offers 64GB and 16GB. Whereas, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 comes with 32GB and 64GB internal storage models and expandable external storage up to 128GB.

Features

Both devices boasts health applications.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 boasts its heart-rate monitor and Samsung's S Health app to track your activity levels and overall health. Workout Trainer and Lark Activity Tracker are some apps that work with the S Health App.

The iPhone 6 Plus have the M8 motion co-processor, which continuously gathers data from the built-in accelerometer, compass, gyroscope and barometer to measure steps, distance and elevation.

Both have fingerprint sensor, but Apple managed to use the fingerprint sensor more than just unlocking the phone. It offers its new app the 'Apple Pay'. Apple has coerce with the major card providers Visa, Mastercard and American Express and introduced a digital payment. This combines NFC, Touch ID and the card information stored in the Passbook app.

Verdict

Both phones are powerful and functional. The only disparity would be if you're an Apple or Android fanatic.
