It was 10 years ago when "SpongeBob Squarepants" movie premiered, and its sequel "SpongeBob Squarepants: Sponge Out of Water" will be out in theaters in 2015.
According to Christian Post, "SpongeBob Squarepants: Sponge Out of Water" has been finished in November 2013, and its release date has been pushed back from 2014 to 2015.
According to The Wrap, the sequel was originally set to hit the theaters on February 13, 2015, but now it will be released on February 6 to avoid "Fifty Shades of Grey".
In this sequel, pirate Burger Beard, played by Antonio Banderas, is looking for the final page of a book. This book is supposedly will make his evil plan into reality. The twist happens when the missing part becomes to be the secret recipe of the Krabby Patty, a burger and the best-known food sold by Mr. Krabs in Bikini Bottom. Burger Beard then steals it, which sends SpongeBob and his friend on a quest to find the stolen recipe. And their journey to discovery will lead them to the human world.
The film, like its predecessor, will have live action scenes.
"SpongeBob Squarepants: Sponge Out of Water" stars the regular television cast Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants / Gary the Snail), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick Star), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward Tentacles), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy Cheeks), and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton). They will reprise their respective roles from the series and the previous film, according to USA Today.
According to reports, the first SpongeBob animated movie, which incorporated live action scenes, grossed more than $140 million.
"SpongeBob Squarepants: Sponge Out of Water" is directed by Paul Tibbitt, and Mike Mitchell has directed the live action scenes.
