After reports that Mariah Carey has started the divorce process against Nick Cannon, rumors have it that the diva is now suffering emotional distress.
According to a report by OK! Magazine, sources said that the singer-songwriter has been a "fragile fountain of tears, and barely has the strength to care" for her twins Moroccan and Monroe, 3, since her marriage with Nick Cannon crumpled.
An insider told the magazine that the diva "is falling apart and totally on edge. She feels like a failure."
The report added that lately, Carey's friends and family would only have one way to describe her situation: "a total emotional mess".
The magazine added that in late August, Cannon was busy moving his things out of the apartment they shared together. Mariah, on the other hand, had a vacation with their kids at Walt Disney World. But Carey was still unhappy.
An onlooker told the magazine that "she was outside with her bodyguards, nannies and kids-she looked pale and puffy, and her hair was a mess. She didn't seem like she was in any condition to speak to anyone."
Mariah Carey, 44, and Nick Cannon, 33, were married in 2008.OK! Magazine also reported that Carey's friends are so worried about her. They fear that Carey might end up hospitalized unless someone intervenes. A source claimed that Cannon thinks her wife needs rehab.
"Nick wanted Mariah to go to rehab," the source told the magazine. Allegedly, Carey has habit of drinking champagne and taking anti-depressant pills.
The source offered an answer as to why Carey has become like this.
"She has a different bond with Nick than any of the men she's been with, and that's why she's taking this breakup even harder," the source said.
"She's going to have a total breakdown if someone doesn't intervene soon. She really needs help before she ends up in the hospital."
US Weekly previously reported that Carey has allegedly drowning herself in champagne to deal with her breakup sorrows.
"She stays up all night, looking at every frame of herself in every photo and dissecting it to death," a source told US Weekly.
The source claimed that Mariah Carey would sometimes stay up until 7 a.m. drinking prosecco.
