Ray Rice abusive video surfaced that caused him an indefinitely leave at NFL.
After the video that was posted by TMZ.com, two days ago, that shows Ray Rice unleashed his left hook on his then fiancé and dragged her out of the elevator unconscious in Atlantic Casino on February 15.
The video prompted lawmakers to condemn former Baltimore running back from the assault. It also caused Ravens to cut him with three years remaining on his five-year, $35 million contract and NFL suspended him indefinitely after his earlier ban for two games.
The Ravens former running back now faces a Pre-Trial Intervention program, a rehabilitation alternative to prosecution.
"Mr. Rice received the same treatment by the criminal justice system in Atlantic County that any first-time offender has, in similar circumstances. The decision was correct." Jay McKeen, a spokesman for McClain, said in an e-mail.
A month after the assault the couple got married in March 26.
Janay Rice is in defense of his husband and elaborated to a source from Hollywoodlife.com why she chose to stay.
"When it comes to matters of the heart, people can do odd, strange and even crazy things," a source tells HollywoodLife.com "I'm not saying her decision is any one of those adjectives, I'm saying she did what her heart told her to. She loved him, I can tell you that."
The source also added, She still loves him to this day. They patched up that situation long ago and he apologized for it. He told her he'd never do such an unthinkable thing again. And he did what most men would do: He showered her with gifts and really tried to make things right."
Janay Rice posted how she feels in Instagram after her husband was cut.
"I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I'm mourning the death of my closest friend. But to have to accept the fact that it's reality is a nightmare in itself. No one knows the pain that the media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his a** of for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific. THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don't you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you've succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you!"
