'How I Met Your Mother' Alternate Ending Leaked Online; Will Fans Finally Be Satisfied With This Happy Ending?

| By

The "How I Met Your Mother" series' alternate ending was leaked online right before its intended release on September 23. Many wondered, will "HIMYM" fans finally be satisfied with this happy ending?

Many "How I Met Your Mother" fans have been rallying for an alternate ending after the two-part series finale showed Ted Mosby marrying but losing his wife to an illness, Barney and Robin ending their three-year marriage, and Ted getting the blessing of his children to date their Aunt Robin.

The Independent reported that the leaked video was supposed to be part of the "How I Met Your Mother" special DVD box set with the alternate ending that is set to be released a few weeks from now.

The website Mashable also said that the series' producer CBS "has not verified nor commented on the leak."

The "How I Met Your Mother" alternate ending that was leaked online was totally different from the one shown in the popular series as all the characters has somehow found their own happy ending.

The "How I Met Your Mother" alternate ending shows the scene right after Barney and Robin's wedding (when they were still very happy and very much in love with each other) with a forlorn best man, Ted.

His tie undone, suit crumpled and hair all messed up, Ted was shown sitting on a bench at the train station with an old woman beside him. The rain was falling very hard, and he was on his way out of New York to try a new life in Chicago.

But, his eye caught the yellow umbrella-the same one he had and lost many times ago-and saw a woman with a bass guitar waiting for the train. Ted finally "did the stupidest, and most impossible thing in the world."

The always-unlucky-in-love Ted went up to meet the ever mysterious Mother-Tracy McConnell-and argued over who owns the yellow umbrella, signifying the start of a beautiful, meant-to-be kind of relationship that Ted had always dreamt of.
