Katy Perry's 'Mean Girls' Tweet Amplifies Rumors Taylor Swift's Song 'Bad Blood' Is About Her; '22' Singer Mum On Identify Of Song's Inspiration

Katy Perry's "Mean Girls" tweet last September 9 amplified rumors that Taylor Swift's song "Bad Blood" is about her, but the "22" singer did not identify the song's inspiration.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Swift revealed that her new album "1989" does not contain any diss tracks about former flames. However, it did have a song entitled, "Bad Blood," which apparently was about her fight with another concert artist.

"For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'" she said.

The 24-year-old singer also detailed the cause of the destroyed relationship with this unnamed singer.

But Katy Perry believed that Taylor Swift's song is about her, due to this very implicating revelation.

"She did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me," Swift said, possibly referring to the bunch of dancers in her group who jumped ship to Perry's while both were doing their respective world tours.

The Sydney Morning Herald described as a "cryptic message" to millions of her followers on Twitter when Katy Perry's "Mean Girls" tweet stated: "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing."

Katy Perry's "Mean Girls" tweet seemed to have fanned the flames of an impending war of words between the two award-winning artists.

Website Billboard also pointed out that aside from the dancers, the two singers also have dated singer-songwriter John Mayer.

Readers of the Rolling Stone had been speculating that Katy Perry was the "friend" in Taylor Swift's song, but the singer did not divulge the identity of the person, saying that her "intent was not to create some gossip-fest," rather, she "wanted people to apply it to a situation where they felt betrayed in their own lives."
