iPhone 6 Vs. iPhone 6 Plus Specs: The Competition Seems To Be Between These Apple Phones; Find Out Their Specs, Price, And Release Date

Apple on Tuesday announced the "biggest advancement in iPhone", referencing to the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.

"Today we are pleased to announce the biggest advancement in iPhone," Apple CEO Tim Cook told the audience at the Flint center in Cupertino, California on Tuesday, The Independent reported.

And it seems that the competition now is between the two iPhones.

As its name suggests, the iPhone 6 plus is bigger and a little bit heavier than its non-plus counterpart. Apart from these physical differences, let's take a look at their features and specs.

Dimension

The iPhone 6 measures 5.44 inches (138.1 mm) in height, 2.64 inches (67 mm) wide, and 0.27 inch (6.9) thick. It weighs 4.55 ounces (129 g).

On the other hand, the iPhone 6 Plus measures 6.22 inches (158.1 mm) high, 3.06 inches (77.8 mm) wide, and 0.28 (7.1 mm) inch thick and weighs 6.07 ounces (172g).

Forbes noted that "a weight increase [in iPhone 6] is roughly proportional to its 16% volume increase compared to the iPhone 5S."

Display

According to Apple's website, retina display of iPhone 6 is 4.7 inches compared to 5.5 inches of iPhone 6 Plus.

When it comes to resolution, the iPhone 6 has 1334×750 (326 PPI) and the iPhone 6 Plus has 1920×1080 (401 PPI).

Apples added that both models have support for display of multiple languages and characters simultaneously, display zoom, and reachability.

Apple added that both iPhones have 080p HD video recording (30 fps or 60 fps), true tone flash, slo-mo video (120 fps or 240 fps), time-lapse video. They also have cinematic video stabilization, continuous autofocus video, improved face detection, 3x zoom, and video geotagging.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus can take still photos while recording.

Battery

Although they both have built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery that can be charged via USB to computer system or power adapter, they differ in their battery life spans.

The iPhone 6 has up to 14 hours (3G) of talk time compared to the maximum of 24 hours (3G) of the iPhone 6 plus.

If you are an Internet savvy person, the iPhone has 10 hours to be used with 3G or LTE and 11 hours for Wi-Fi Internet connection. The iPhone 6 Plus goes beyond only for one hour.

Forbes' review said that "both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will also sport VoLTE (Voice over LTE)".

The iPhone 6 video and audio playback time are 11 and 50 hours, respectively. While the iPhone 6 Plus has up to 14 and 80 hours of video and audio playback time, respectively.

OS and Hardware

The operating system of both iPhones is iOS 8, which is the biggest iOS release ever, according to Apple. Both models also have A8 64-bit chip with M8 motion coprocessor.

Price and Release Date

For its price, the iPhone 6 is available at 16 GB ($199), 64 GB ($299 GB), and 128 GB ($399). The iPhone 6 Plus goes also with the same memory storage although they differ in prices: at 16 GB ($299), 64 GB ($399 GB), and 128 GB ($499).

The Independent reported that pre-orders of these iPhones start on September 12. The devices will officially arrive on September 19 in the U.S., France, Hong Kong, Canada, Germany, Singapore, the UK, Australia and Japan, with more countries to follow soon after.
