The Cristiano Ronald Manchester United affair was a great sight to see back then. It was like Jack Nicholso and Helena Hunt in As Good as it Gets or Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper in Silver Linings Playbook. However, that relationship abruptly ended in 2009 when Ronaldo reportedly expressed interest to transfer to Real Madrid. It was a long and dramatic negotiation between the two European powerhouses but it happened anyway and Red Devils fans were left disappointed because their superstar has left them.
Fast forward to 2014, the Portuguese star and the English Premier League have found ways to amend their ties. More than that, it seems that these two are bound to reunite. It looks like Cristiano Ronaldo Manchester United affair will have a continuation.
According to a report by Givemesport.com, Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, is now plotting a €70 million return of his client to Old Trafford. This is after the agent reportedly got mad of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez who did not sign Radamel Falcao, his other client.
"Perez's comments afterwards that he would have had to have made him "president of Real Madrid' had he sanctioned a move for Falcao was also said to have annoyed Mendes - who is now gearing up to take the ultimate revenge, and Manchester United could benefit," Givemesport.com wrote quoting a Spanish report.
Mendes, who also handles new Manchester United signing Angel di Maria, allegedly wants to build a superb trio in Old Trafford. Falcao has signed up for Louis van Gaal and he now only needs Ronaldo.
Last month, fans received a boost in their hopes of seeing a Cristiano Ronald Manchester United reunion when the Real Madrid star and two-time Ballon d'Or winner said that Man Utd continues to have a place in his heart and could come back there some day.
"I love Manchester," he told the Daily Mail. "Everyone knows that - I have said it many times.
"Manchester is in my heart. I left many good friends there, the supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day."
