Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka finally tied the knot!
How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris has finally married his long-time partner David Burtka. The wedding was held just this weekend without making a big announcement to the public until after Harris finally revealed the news in a tweet on Monday.
Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka have been together for ten years and have two kids together - 3 ½ year old twins Gideon Scott and Harper Grace. Gideon and Harper were part of the entourage as ring bearer and flower girl.
Harris and Burtka donned matching Tom Ford tuxedos at their special event in a castle in Italy. The wedding was officiated by Pam Fryman, How I Met Your Mother director and producer and a performance by sir Elton John was included in the ceremony. It was a private ceremony which included only the family and close friends of the couple.
Neil Patrick Harris is an American actor, producer, singer and director. He became famous when he played the lead role in the series released last 1989, Doogie Howser, M.D. He is best known for his role as Barney in the American television comedy series How I Met Your Mother.
Burtka on the other hand is an American actor and a chef. Burtka also appeared in seven episodes of How I Met Your Mother, playing the role of Scooter, Lily's former high school boyfriend. According to Harris, Burtka has retired from acting to focus on his career as a chef.
According to People Magazine, another celebrity who tied the knot this weekend was The Nanny star Fran Drescher and her fiance Shiva Ayyadurai. Both met over a year ago at an event and have ended up together with an intimate wedding ceremony on a beach.
