The much-anticipated "Gone Girl" film trailer TV spot launched during the Emmy's night sent thrill chills down viewers' spines as fans await the movie's release date set next month.
The new "Gone Girl" film trailer TV spot from 20th Century Fox showed Ben Affleck's character, Nick Dunne, who was accused of killing his wife, Amy Dunne, played by actress Rosamund Pike. Amy suddenly disappeared during the couple's fifth wedding anniversary, which started a roller coaster ride of a drama-thriller story.
David Fincher adapts the novel of Gillian Flynn, "Gone Girl."
Based from the "Gone Girl" film trailer TV spot, viewers caught a glimpse of the love story of Nick and Amy-how they fell in love, up to the point where the audience can see the tension-filled moments of Amy and the events which leave moviegoers wondering, did Nick kill Amy?
Yahoo! Movies Philiana Ng described the "Gone Girl" film TV spot as eerie as it teased dialogues from characters like Amy's voice over saying, "This man of mine... may kill me."
Kase Wickman of MTV also stated watching the trailer as a "very tense minute."
Meanwhile, Matt Goldberg of Collider said that "Gone Girl" is indeed, "one of my most-anticipated films of the year, and I hope the marketing stays on this level where they're using Fincher's moody vibe and sinister tone to sell the movie rather than giving away chunks of the plot." He furthered shared, "I have the feeling this is going to be one mean movie, and I can't wait to see it."
With more than 7.7 million copies of the runaway best-selling novel sold all over the world, this new film by Fincher is expected to come "with a mix of artistic credibility and mainstream box-office potential," Caryn James of Wall Street Journal said.
"Gone Girl" also stars Tyler Perry, Scoot McNairy, Kim Dickens, Missi Pyle, Patrick Fugit, Emily Ratajkowski, Casey Wilson and Neil Patrick Harris. The film is set to premiere at the 2014 New York Film Festival and hit the regular cinemas on October 3.
