Simone Battle Dead Due To Apparent Suicide; Autopsy Has Been Scheduled; Fans, Friends, And Followers Mourn The Death of 'Exuberant' 'X Factor' Finalist

"The X Factor" finalist and G.R.L. singer Simone Battle was found dead on September 5 in Los Angeles.

E! News reported that 25-year-old Battle died in her home in Los Angeles due to apparent suicide.

Simone was known for her "The X Factor" stint in 2011. She was mentored by Simon Cowell.

Her father Anthony Battle confirmed to MailOnline that his daughter passed away in her home.

"She will be greatly missed and loved. She was an exuberant person and a very loved person," her father told MailOnline.

The L.A. Country Coroner's Office told TMZ that Battle was found in her bedroom around 8:30 in the morning. She was hanging in a closet.

But in a report by CNN says otherwise. The cause of death is not yet known, and an autopsy has been scheduled for the weekend.

A friend of Simone mourns the singer's eventual death. "Can't believe what I woke up today. Simone Battle you will forever be missed. One of the sweetest souls I've ever met," Simone's friend told HollywoodLife.com.

Fans and Twitter followers also joined the mourning. Her record company and management issued a statement, according to MailOnline.

"Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time."

On its Twitter account, G.R.L. posted: "Words cannot express the depth of our loss. Simone's incredible talent was only surpassed by the size of her heart."

Based on CNN's backgrounder, Simone grew up in Los Angeles. Some of her interests were ballet, modeling, and acting in television commercials. She also used to sing in a church choir and worked as an intern in a company associated with the Black Eyed Peas.
