A fatal vehicular accident that happened last September 3, 2014 has caused the death of member EunB, and now fellow member Kwon RiSe, who was in a coma for several days in Aju University has reportedly passed away at 10:10 AM (KST), she was 23.
The group was heading back to their dorm after their scheduled activities in Daegu when the tragic accident happened wherein member EunB died on the way to the hospital. Meanwhile, Sojung and RiSe were in critical condition while Ashley and Zuny only had minor injuries. A memorial service was held recently for EunB, and was attended by other artists from different labels including Super Junior, BTS, A-Pink, BTOB, Sistar and more.
Kwon RiSe was fighting for her life at the ICU for several days. Her friends, family and fans are heartbroken with the sudden news. RiSe was known to be a person full of joy and happiness. According to her fans, “She always managed to put a smile on her face. On stage or off the stage, she was always the same RiSe. She was brighter than anyone.”
RiSe was the eldest in the group and was the one who always encouraged her members to be the best that they can be whether it’s on or off stage. The people who knew her repeatedly tells everyone that her signature smile can brighten up a whole room and her bright energy is what holds Ladies’ Code strongly together. Before she was an artist, she was a model and has also participated in the Miss Korea Pageant in 2009.
It was also reported that her family in Japan was planning to visit her to celebrate Chuseok together. Kpop fans and fellow artists have given their condolences to RiSe’s friends and family. There is still no statement from Polaris Entertainment.
