Recent Floyd Mayweather Next Fight News indicated that Jackson filed a lawsuit against Mayweather for several charges, including battery and invasion of privacy, but the unbeaten champion played down all accusations.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. vowed to remain focused on his upcoming fight against Marcos Maidana amid the controversy created by his ex-fiancée Shantel Jackson.
Mayweather, who will face Maidana in a rematch on Sept. 13 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, said that he is not worried about Jackson's "lies" and "rumors" as he is focused solely on his second fight against his Argentine challenger.
"My thing is I have to take care of my children and family. My job is to do what I what I do best. My job is to be Floyd Mayweather," Mayweather said. "People are entitled to their opinions. They are entitled to believe what they want to believe. But when you reach this level that I'm at there are always those taking shots at you. I don't worry about that. Taking shots at me only comes with the territory."
In another Floyd Mayweather Next Fight News on BoxingScene, Mayweather said that the judges for his upcoming fight is the least of his concern at this point.
While he feels that he deserved a more convincing decision win in his first showdown against Maidana in May, the reigning pound-for-pound king expressed confidence that the Nevada State Athletic Commission will pick the best judges for the rematch.
"Well I think we're in the mecca of boxing, and we have the best commission in the world. So we probably need some new, young judges, whereas I think some of the judges now are a lot older and I think we need some new, young judges," the Grand Rapids, Michigan native said on the Floyd Mayweather Next Fight News.
The 37-year-old, who holds an unblemished 46-0 record with 26 knockouts, will put his World Boxing Council welterweight and light middleweight titles along with his World Boxing Organization welterweight crown against Maidana.
