Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's marriage seems to be unfixable.
After many headlines of their rocky relationship over the past months, a source told E! News that "Mariah has started the divorce process."
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were married in 2008.
The source said that "Nick recently asked if she wanted to bring in a marriage counselor." This is to help them resolve their marital issues.
The 45-year-old singer "won't be caught off-guard again," said the source referring to the comment Cannon made about their marriage.
Late August, Cannon was quoted by Yahoo saying: "There is trouble in paradise. We have been living separate houses for a few months," adding that his main focus is his 3-year-old kids to Carey, Moroccan and Monroe.
"She was devastated when he spoke out about their issues. She's started the proceedings to make sure the ball is in her court from now on," according to the source.
But the source also acknowledged that "Nick's been talking about giving things another try. He wants another chance."
In May, Cannon made a statement to Parade that the divorce rumors are not true.
"You kind of have to ignore it because every week it's something different, and if you paid attention to it, it actually probably would start really affecting you. There's no merit or truth to it. It's kind of humorous, really. It couldn't be further off from the truth, and it really affects the credibility of the so-called newspapers."
Cannon brought to Twitter his rants about the false reports about his alleged statement on his marriage with Carey.
"For the record I NEVER have, nor will I make a statement regarding my marriage," he wrote on Twitter.
"I will always love her unconditionally for this and so much more. @MariahCarey is an amazing Mother and I trust her wholeheartedly..." his post said.
The 33-year-old rapper also belied the alleged statement he gave about his marriage with Carey. "And finally, 'Trouble in Paradise' is the dumbest phrase I've ever heard! I would never say that sh!t."
