The world-renowned PC vendor, Asus, is releasing its first ever smartwatch. Dubbed "ZenWatch", this Taiwanese company is braving to go head to head with other leading smartwatch producers like Samsung, LG, and Apple.
Currently, Samsung "Gear S" and LG "G Watch R", including Motorola's "Moto 360" smartwatches are scheduled for unveiling in the same event as "ZenWatch" at the IFA 2014 Berlin Conference set for September 4.
According to the official Twitter page of Asus: "Marvel at home time will be transformed at #IFA2014 Berlin with the Incredible #ZenWatch."
For Asus smartwatch release date, specs and other information, Asus released a video teaser referencing the unveiling during the upcoming IFA 2014 event. In the video, the ZenWatch is seen with a sleek black face as well as a black band. Information on the possible features are left out in the teaser.
However, Jerry Shen, CEO of Asus has let it slip in an interview with Focus Taiwan about the pricing of the new product. Shen has confirmed that ZenWatch will not exceed $200 a pop.
Among the many any exciting features of this sleek and affordable smartwatch, is the voice recognition feature which is set to work with English only product for the first batch of release. Other languages, such as Chinese will be released by the end of the year.
ZenWatch is slated for release in October.
