There’s not much Stephen King Cell Movie update but here’s something sweet from Cusack to the book author. Cusack is set to star in the movie adaptation of Stephen King's science fiction horror film Cell. This will be the second time that the 48-year old actor will work with King, with the two of them having collaborated for 1408, third if you will count his cameo at Stand by Me. Productions for the Stephen King Cell Movie has started but there is no showing date yet. Cusack and King have come a long way, reason why it is not surprising that The Butler star is all praises for the writer.
In an interview in Total Film, Cusack have nothing but sweet words for the author behind classics like Shawshank Redemption and The Shining.
"King's great to adapt," Cusack said. "His ideas are vital. He dreams things before they happen -- like, culturally. He's ahead of the curve. He's cavalier in the way he churns out his books, but they're very resourceful. I enjoy working with him."
The Stephen King comment is not the only highlight of John Cusack's interview. He also took a jab on the latest trend in film industry, particularly the blockbusters film produced by Marvel and DC Comics.
"I was in Puerto Rico and I saw John Malkovich," Cusack explained. "He goes, 'The movie business we were in 10 years ago? Thta's gone. There's nothing.' So there's just The Avengers. The studios make the Supermans and the Batmans and the Tarzans. There isn't the $10m or $15m or $20m movies that are for adults and take a risk. It's now gone to cable TV. They've started to serialize adult content."
Right now, Cusack is still busy with Cell movie and Dragon Blade. He might also be seen in The Expendables 4 after he expressed his desire to play a part in the star-studded action film.
"What's my price? What do I have to do in it? Do I throw a nice in someone's chest and say 'stick around?' I think I can do it," Cusack said.
Aside from John Cusack, Stephen King Cell Movie will also stars Samuel Jackson and Isabelle Fuhrman.
