We have seen the typical way of doing the ALS Ice bucket challenge: Pouring a bucket (or two) of ice (water) with the clothes on. But Kathy Griffin would want it done differently: NAKED.
The comedian took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge with the help of Aubrey Plaza and Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean, two of whom nominated her. The challenge was televised on "Jimmy Kimmel Live".
The one-minute video clip shows Griffin ascending from a pool, wearing red high-heeled shoes.
"I don't really know why you wanted me to be naked for this but anything for the cause. I'm going to keep my shoes on. I'm sorry, but I'm a classy lady," she said.
She is then poured two buckets of ice with water. Plaza makes a playful stance by rubbing a piece of ice on Griffin's breast.
The 53-year-old comedian then pushes McLean to the pool as a punishment.
Aside from McLean and Plaza who helped her complete the challenge, Suze Orman and Margaret Cho also nominated her.
As of August, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has raised $100 million, according to ALS organization. On its website, it acknowledged Leonardo DiCaprio and David Spade for donating at least $100,000 to the organization.
ALS or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease," is a progressive neurodegenerative disease affecting nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord that control the voluntary muscles.
According to American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, ALS does not impair a person's mind. Personality, intelligence, memory, and self-awareness remain the same. The senses of sight, smell, touch, hearing, and taste remain intact as well.
Other celebrities that took the challenge are Chris Evans, John Mayer, Matthew Lewis, Rihanna, Mandy Moore, Matt Damon, Kate Hudson, Eminem, Kristen Stewart, and Emma Stone.
