Beyonce and Jay-Z seemed to remain intact amid split rumors, as Queen Bey dominated the night of the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards after taking home the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
Jay-Z, together with daughter Blue Ivy, presented the award to "the greatest living performer."
In her short thank you speech, Beyonce said, "I have nothing to say. But I'm filled with so much gratitude. I just thank God for this moment. I love you all so much."
After accepting the award, Jay-Z's queen delivered a nearly 20-minute spectacular performance, which included songs from her self-titled album.
The Guardian called her performance a "show-stopper... [she] brought the house down," and Mesfin Fekadu of the Associated Press wrote that she was "the reigning queen... her performance easily outdid her competition throughout the night."
In the past months, there were persistent rumors that Beyonce and Jay-Z will call it quits after the conclusion of their concert tour in September.
Beyonce also won the Best Cinematography for her song "Pretty Hurts", which also awarded the Best Video with a Social Message.
Beyonce and Jay-Z were also awarded the Best Collaboration for their song "Drunk in Love."
Another highlight of the night was the "bootylicious" performance of Nicki Minaj of her song "Anaconda". But the rapper suffered wardrobe malfunction as she was seen clutching her open dress while the show was going on. Together with Minaj on stage performing her "Bang Bang" single were Jessie J and Ariana Grande.
Other big winners of the awards night were Ed Sheeran for "Sing" and Katy Perry feat. Juicy J for "Dark Horse" as the Best Male Video and the Best Female Video, respectively.
Grande's "Problem" with Iggy Azalea bagged the Best Pop Video while the Best Rock Video went to Lorde for her "Royals".
Miley Cyrus let her "homeless" date Jesse Helt accept her Best Music Video award for "Wrecking Ball".
