Premier League : Manchester United Draws With Burnley But Louis van Gaal Says They Have Improved; Coach Also Reveals New 'Familiar' Reinforcement

| By

Manchester United is yet to win a game in the current season of the English Premier League. Yes, you read that right. The team that won 13 of the last 22 EPL championships is struggling to earn three points of the early season. What's more frustrating about that, if you are Red Devils fan, is that the team failed to win against the likes of Swansea City, Sunderlad, and Burnley, all of the notably weaker than MUFC. They also fell out of contention for the League Cup after an embarrassing 0-4 loss to third-tier team MK Dons.

The last four performances of Manchester United have been nothing but ugly, especially for a team of their standards. Still, for new manager Louis van Gaal, the club is showing signs of improvement. Even if they failed to win against Burnley, he believes that they are making progress.

"I think we were the stronger team, certainly in the second half," the Dutchman told BT Sport.

"In the first half we didn't play a passing game that we did in the second half much better. We have also created more chances, but then you have to score, we could have scored."

From van Gaal's standpoint, 'improvement' is an appropriate word to use. The Dutch coach is instilling a new system on the Old Trafford-based club. He is using three players in the centre-back, something that Manchester United hasn't been doing in a while. However, for its fans, the results are disappointing. Fans were spoiled of championships over the last decade, be it on national or European levels.

'We are not giving (away) a lot of chances, today in the first half maybe two and in the second half maybe two,' he said.

'In the games we played earlier, we didn't give a lot of chances away, but we have to create more chances and today we have created chances to score and that is where we have failed."

On the same interview, van Gaal revealed that Daley Blind, his player at Netherlands, is set to receive a medical for the team.

'He'll come to Manchester to have a medical, and then we might have a new player.'
