Nick Cannon's split from Mariah Carey has revealed in an exclusive interview with The Insider with Yahoo. The host also divulged that he has been living separately from estranged wife Mariah Carey for several months and that their main focus now is their twins.
"There is trouble in paradise," Cannon, 33, said. "We have been living in separate houses for a few months."
The America's Got Talent host also denied the rumors that claiming Nick Cannon's split from Mariah Carey was due to infidelity, and said that at the moment, his motivation is his children.
"My main focus is my kids," the host said, referring to his 3-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan.
Meanwhile, Mariah Carey's camp remained mum on her marriage and divorce. According to US Weekly, the singer's publicist stated, "I am not commenting on Mariah's personal life, but Mariah is focusing on her children and her upcoming tour."
Rumors started to go around saying that Nick Cannon split from Mariah Carey some time in May, but during that time, Cannon was adamant and told Parade that "there is no merit of truth" in the divorce news.
In that interview, he was quoted saying, "You have to ignore it because every week, it's something different, and if you paid attention to it, it actually probably would start really affecting you."
During the Father's Day weekend, Carey even posted a family photo on Instagram of her, Cannon and the twins, dispelling rumors of divorce.
Cannon and Carey exchanged vows in secret in the Bahamas after a whirlwind romance that lasted six weeks in April of 2008. They had the tradition of renewing their vows in lavish ceremonies during their anniversary, except for the last one. They were married for six years.
Meanwhile, Hollywood Life reported that the ex-couple are actually getting along better now that they have separated. The ex-couple are reportedly undergoing talks how to divide their property investments and as well as custody for their twins.
