The 2014 Street League Skateboarding reduced 25 of the world's best skaters to 8 in the finals including Ishod Wair, Matt Berger, Shane O' Neill and staples Luan Oliveira, Paul Rodriguez, Chaz Ortiz and Nyjah Huston. History went down at Street League as Nyjah ended the tour as the first undefeated overall champion, taking home first place in every stop of the tour.
"This whole year has just been pretty on point for me," says Huston. "I think it was just a mixture of a lot of hard work in practice and a lot of lucky situations,"
He also posted on his Instagram account saying that: "This year has been unreal. Couldn't be any more stoked. The win tonight was one of the best moments of my life!"
Huston was at odds with another crowd favorite, Shane O' Neill before he was bumped out finishing last in the Flow section. Luan Oliveira took the lead, but also was eventually bumped into last after bailing in all attempts of the Impact section.
It was in Huston's run, where he landed a Cab backside noseblunt to fakie, the earned him a 9.0 taking the overall lead and the championship home.
Street League founder Rob Dyrdek crowned the champion saying(via xgames.com):
"This guy has won every single contest this entire year: it's never happened in the history of skateboarding, Tampa Pro to everything, and the very first time to win all the Street Leagues,"
"And the way to do it is when you have to do it when it matters most on your absolute final trick. He asked me, he said, "Should I try an easy trick?" I said, 'Naw, I don't want to give you advice because if you mess up you can blame me.' And he went for the Cab flip into that bank to prove that, 'Look, I can do the hardest tricks when it matters most.' Someone who's very deserving to call themselves a Street League champion, the one and only Nyjah Huston."
