Under The Dome Season 2 Finale To See More Characters Die? Show's Executive Producer Says It Is Still 'In Flux'

| By

Under the Dome Season 2 is stil five episodes away from its finale. During the first eight episodes, fans witnessed massive revelations and twists. This makes it hard for fans to guess how the show would end. As Stephen King said before the premier of the second season, no one is safe inside the Chester's Mill. In fact, in the very first episode (warning: spoiler ahead), the renowned novelist killed two of the main characters from season one, Angie McAlister (played by Britt Robertson) and Deputy Linda Esquivel (Natalie Martinez).

With five episodes left, followers are still left in the dark regarding the show's conclusion. Well, it's not just fans who are left clueless regarding the ending. Even the brain trust themselves don't know how the adventure inside the indestructible dome would pan out.

Under the Dome showrunner Neal Baer told Digital Spy that the Under the Dome's ultimate ending is still 'in flux.'

"It changes as the show continues," Baer said. "I don't really know [how it ends] - we have certain ideas that we can do, but it's in flux."

This is statement is contrary to what Baer said last year before the series' premiered. That time, he said that they already know the ending for the fantasy-drama.

"I think three people know. Me, Brian and Stephen King. So if it gets out, we know who to blame."

The change in scenery is largely because of the death and arrival of some key characters. Among them are Sam Verdreaux (played by Eddie Cahill), Don Barbara (Bret Cullen), and Pauline Rennie (played by Sherry Stringfield).

So far, there's no confirmation yet from CBS regarding the renewal of the show for a third season. The show's ratings though indicate that it has a great following. According to a data provided by Canvs, a social TV platform created by social media insights firm Mashwork, Under the Dome garnered 6,429 total tweets during its last episode. With 5.5-million viewers, Under the Dome has helped CBS become the most watched of the night last week.
