In October last year, it was confirmed that an official sequel was in the works for Tim Burton's classic "Beetlejuice" (via a report from The Wrap)
Not much is know about the sequel except that it was confirmed back in October. It is rumored, however, that Michael Keaton and Winona Rider would reprise their roles. Keaton, who has worked with Tim Burton the director of the first Beetlejuice with his roles in Batman, says that he had already talked to the director, but hasn't made anything official yet:
"I've e-mailed Tim a couple of times, talked to the writer a couple of times, but all really, really preliminary stuff until relatively recently. I always said that's the one thing I'd like to do again, if I ever did anything again. But it kind of required Tim to be involved some way or another. Now it looks like he is involved. And without giving too much away we've talked to each other, and e-mailed each other, and if he's in, it's going to be hard not to be in."

Winona Ryder who played the gothic teen Lydia Deetz in the original film also hinted her participation:
"I'm kind of sworn to secrecy but it sounds like it might be happening. It's 27 years later. And I have to say, I love Lydia Deetz so much. She was such a huge part of me. I would be really interested in what she is doing 27 years later,"
It is also speculated that Sin City: A Dame To Kill For star Eva Green might have a role in the sequel. Green, 34, is currently in talks with Burton to star in "Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children", an adaptation of a novel by Ranson Riggs.
2014 has seen a fair amount of reboots and sequels namely; Godzilla, 22 Jumpstreet, and the massively successful Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it isn't hard to imagine for Beetlejuice 2 to make its way into production and eventually back on the screen.
